Plex and Serviio can co-exist on the same computer without a problem. Plex has the advantage of having a well designed app that is available on my streaming players and Smart TVs, as well as the web interface for streaming via a browser. Thanks for the input.Plex and Serviio are two similar but separate programs. I think different hardware just has its purposes. In the end, the advice to get different hardware I think was a great call. It should be very similar in performance to the Roku I just picked up. I also have an Amazon Firestick on the way too so I can test it. Roku has a great product and price perfect for the market. I think more than $50 is too much at this time for a product to do what I'm looking for. I just ordered two more and I expect more will be on there way later. I have not tried that only because I wanted to try out the Roku with the remote. Others are talking about how the RP seems to work well with using Kodi as an OS and then using the Plex plugin on that. However, I go out and pick up a Roku Streaming Stick (4K) for less than $50 and my experience was 100% different (in a good way). I bought my RPs for about $50-$60 each (after buying the board, a case, and memory to go in it. However, I completely disagree with your logic about buying cheaper (or less expensive) hardware being an issue. I have since grabbed a Roku streaming stick and 100% love the experience so far. Plex has clients for almost every devices, I bet even a fridge with a screen will support it. Second is of course Plex, there are just no other alternatives that have as wide of a client support. But it will only decode on the client, server is not under any load. It's still technically server-client model, as files are hosted on the server and streamed to your client. I love Plex, but I would use Kodi for TVs and stream from DLNA or Samba share (Plex has DLNA). The only solution is to reboot the Raspberry Pi. For some reason, the video just hangs to the entire interface. Often, when I turn on my TV than try to use my remote to navigate, I can hear it doing things in the background (I can even play a show by randomly clicking things).Fast forwarding and Rewinding is a nightmare and usually freezes the playback to where it requires you to stop and then resume playback. Two of the most annoying things I experience with it are. It seems to have very little development on it. The only real issue I have with Plex is the PMP product. In the past, I have used Kodi and LOVED IT! However, I wanted to move to a server-client model and the idea of Plex was (at the time) the answer to all my needs. The alternatives I have found are ones like. I have been looking into alternatives but was hoping to get some input from the community before having to spend a bunch of time testing each one out. It is always buggy on all my Raspberry Pis and I spend more time rebooting the Pi then I do watching media it feels like. However, I'm at my wits' end with the very underdeveloped PMP. It’s like that thing is trying to absorb him and he’s escaping before it can get a solid grasp, almost as if it’s trying to take him into cyberspace. This dusty thing glows pink and sends out some missiles that home in on Sonic and he almost gets caught in it, but then boosts to escape. I see tons of people saying “Sonic has cyber powers now?!” but I really don’t think that’s the case. (For some reason this was removed from the article.)īut, the cyberspace from the leaks seems to have a big impact on things. We did get a little synopsis, although it mostly just gives us the setting. There’s also been talk of an XP system, although I have no clue how that would work. I’ve seen other fans theorize that you’d have to clear the traditional cyberspace stages, fight a boss, then be able to move on to the next island which seems pretty solid to me. I don’t think the islands will be treated entirely as a hub world, there will be other things to do and this is evident as floating platforms and grind rails can be seen in the background. ![]() (Splatoon’s hub puzzles are hardly puzzles but the concept applies.) I think of it kind of like Splatoon’s single player, going around and solving puzzles to find the stages to progress. I think you’ll essentially have free rein over a island, which probably will have areas to explore and some challenges and goodies, (I pray for each island to have a hidden Chao garden) but you’ll have to progress through the game to unlock each additional island. We know it takes place on the Starfall Islands and SEGA is describing it as “open-zone” and not open world. Then, in line with the leaks, the larger buildings might be dungeons where you fight the area bosses and get story content. I’ve seen another person point this out, but these might be those portals. Going by the 4chan leaks, there’s levels in the game that are more traditional Sonic stages which take place in cyberspace, something that’s is seemingly supported by the tagline on the website. In multiple shots during the trailer we see the structures of the ancient civilization, but the ones I want to talk about are these.Ĭompared to the other monuments, they’re much smaller and can be seen in different locations, so they aren’t just a one-off set piece.
